The experience with Happy Cargo was nothing short of a nightmare which is still ongoing. I had to shift my stuff from Bangalore to Ghaziabad. Please note that this is not a proper packers and movers but just a cargo delivery company which I realized too late.
My first mistake being that I booked them just after reading couple of reviews. At the time of booking, they were talking very sweetly as they had to get money. After paying the token amount, it was booked. It was a guy named Gopal.
They came on time for pickup as well and this is where the good part of the story ends.
I had to literally tell them for everything that it needs to be packed properly. They were keen on dumping everything inside a box randomly. Highly unprofessional folks and then demanding a tip on top of that. I still obliged and paid them as they had done some good manual work at least. I paid everything in advance and this was my second mistake. Finally, everything was packed and moved from my place.
When it reached my place in Ghaziabad, then I came to know that it was not a packers and movers but a delivery company. The guys who brought stuff literally told me that they cannot shift it to my floor (1st floor) since they just deliver it to ground floor. They said they are not from any packers but from a company called Delhivery. Since I didn't have a choice, I requested them to move it to my floor by paying some additional money.
Meanwhile, the guy through which I booked and said that he has withhold some money for delivery company and asked me to pay them and he committed to transfer the amount to me (11 k Rs).
When the stuff started to move, i realized that half of the stuff is broken, my double bed, sofa, centre table glass, crockery items everything was broken. The delivery boys said they are not responsible for anything as they are just delivering a package they received in the morning. I called Gopal, through which I booked and he said he will transfer the 10k amount back and I can keep it till insurance is settled and he did that.
Now, after delivering my stuff the delivery company demanded pending 11k Rs which I refused since my stuff was all broken. They started fighting on the road and then I looped in Gopal. The fight continued for more than 3 hrs and eventually they left.
Then Gopal called me and said that I can get my stuff repaired and transfer back the remaining mount to him. I was fine with that as well.
But, when I unpacked my boxes after couple of days, I found that stuff more than worth 20k stuff has been stolen from the boxes and repacked again.
It includes, multiple double bedsheets, double blankets, kids new clothes, me and my wife's new clothes. When I informed Gopal, he said he will get it investigated.
Now for last 2 days, he is calling and asking the money back. When I quote my loss, he says that at maximum, he can give me some 2k Rs to cover my losses wherein I had paid only the insurance premium almost 10 rs.
So, to cover my loss of around 30k Rs (lost stuff and broken stuff), I should happily accept 2k rs and keep quite.
Now, he has started threatening to send goons if I don't pay him back. I am planning to lodge an FIR against this company called Happy Cargo and Gopal if he dares that.
Request you all to please not even recommend this company to worst of your enemies.
