It is one of the wealthiest cities of the country and has a rapid metro line of its own. The region is one of the three most important parts of Delhi-NCR region and is the second largest city of Haryana state.

Historically, Gurgaon has a lot of significance. The region is believed to be inside Kuru Kingdom and was mainly administered by Guru Dronancharya. That is why this place is called Gurgaon or Gurugram which literally means the village of Guru.
